BPSC Assistant Town Planner 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for BPSC Assistant Town Planner 2025 must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree/diploma in Town Planning, Urban Planning, Regional Planning, or equivalent from a recognized university. Age limits will be as per BPSC norms with applicable relaxations for reserved categories. Applicants must fulfill all eligibility conditions before applying.

BPSC Assistant Town Planner 2025 – Selection Process

Selection Process: Based on written examination (Objective Type).

(a) Question Paper: For the selection of Assistant Town Planner, only one technical paper – Town Planning Paper will be conducted.

(b) Exam Pattern: The duration of the examination will be 2 hours, with a total of 125 questions, carrying 125 marks. The examination will be based on Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

(c) Negative Marking: There will be no deduction of marks for wrong answers. However, as per the resolution no. 2374 dated 16.07.2007 and letter no. 6706 dated 01.10.2008 of the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, it will be mandatory to obtain minimum qualifying marks in the written examination as follows: 40% for General Category, 36.5% for Backward Class, 34% for Extremely Backward Class, and 32% for Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes, Women, and Divyang (PwD) candidates.

  • Mode of Selection: Based on Written Examination (Objective Type).

A. One Time Registration (OTR)

How to Apply BPSC Assistant Town Planner 2025

(i) For applying online to various examinations of BPSC, it is mandatory to do One Time Registration (OTR) on the Commission’s website https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in.

(ii) To complete OTR, candidates must click on the “New User Registration” button.

(iii) This OTR will be valid for all future advertisements published by the Commission.

(iv) OTR is not an application for any examination. It is only a process to collect information from applicants and to provide each applicant with a separate dashboard to maintain their profile.

(v) A valid and active email ID and mobile number are mandatory for OTR. Candidates must check their email Inbox or Spam folder for the OTP.

(vi) Candidates who wish to apply online for any examination advertised by BPSC must use the password generated during OTR.

(vii) More than one OTR registration is not permitted. Doing so may lead to rejection/cancellation of the application.

(viii) Candidates who have previously completed One Time Registration (OTR) while applying through the old online portal must also ensure to complete the OTR process afresh on the new portal.
